A split decision gave it to Brian but ya know if Wesley had any cardio it would have been no contest. Big boy had fast hands for someone his size. Hope to see him back next year ready to go the distance and keep his hands up. Brian has been in the game awhile and did what it took to bring home the win.

i went to the to “the calm before the storm” and i gotta say its the worst fight i been to ever! for one all, but a few fights, were borin as hell! for two my wife couldn’t see because of the seatin arrangment! i came to watch “the perfect storm” perform but hell i was so bored i left after babalu’s fight! and i personally would have gave wesley little the fight over albin! Albin got rock twice in the second round and it looked like he was jus in the for a ride! but not of the least! it was a waste of my seventy dollars!!

The fight was pretty good. The seating was not to hot. It would have been better if people would respect the people behind them and sit there ass down! I only have one problem with the info on this page. I do not understand why psychout blows Wes up so much, like he can not be defeated! I know he is a hometown favorite and I respect that, but give other fighters the respect they deserve also! For instance, the fight with Bo Hooks and Mongo (p.s. its Mongo Tidwell) they said, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD FIGHT….Hello…Were you even there!….. He got knocked out cold with one hell of a left hook in the first two minutes of Round One! You can check out the fight for yourself on youtube (keywords Brad “Mongo” Tidwell). Hey Dana, I was at the fight and even watched a replay of it to be fair. It appeared to me that your husband rushed and hit Bo just as he was pulling his shorts up, thats pretty classy. As for Wes, Ive seen him fight several times and he was not his normal self that fight, if he was to show up in Nov. and perform like we’ve all seen in the past you’ll be eating your words. And yes it is pretty obvious that your his wife because no one else would bother talking about him!!

Secondly, John, in response to your comments, your damn right I am his wife and yes my opinion of him may be higher than anyone else but bottom line, Brad is a good fighter. As far as your comment about Brad taking a cheap shot at Bo….LOL. You might need to have your eyes checked or maybe you had to much beer and it impaired your judgement either way you have lost your damn mind if you honestly believe that! Brad let him up off the ground and then when the ref give them the ok, he went towards him and caught him with a left and Bo went down. I guess the others shots he through were CHEAP SHOTS too, huh? Anyway, we talked to Bo after the fight and he is an outstanding guy/fighter for which I have much respect. I know that I am wasting my time even bothering to reply to anyone on here because of the “Hometown Factor”. Regardless, if anyone was offended by my comments, it was not intentional. I am sure Wes is a big deal in your town just as Mongo is in ours and of course you will always defend them. I have respect for Wes and any other fighters that step in the ring. first to beat the storm will take nothing more than someone who can stay away and make him fight. his accuracy sucks and his handicap is fighting. good at man handleing people.. personally i think he will only get in the ring with people he knows he can beat.

First of all John, I was at the fight and I have watched it several times and have watched twice since your post just to see what the hell you’re talking about and son you need to watch it again because he was through pulling his shorts up and the ref gave them the go ahead! Secondly your boy Hooks didn’t look that impressive at all, mind you I give him credit for stepping in the ring, everybody deserves that! He was knee’d 5 times while on the mat, the whole time they was on the mat all we was doing was pushing up, Mongo finally let him up and he only connected with a handful of hits. I understand this BS talk because of the hometown boys but I will tell you this much I don’t expect the same person to show up in Biloxi either by The Storm as you call him, or by Mongo either. Respect should go out for all the fighters. Mongo knocked Hooks out with a clean shot!!!!!!!! He even stunned him right of the bat!!!!!!! Give credit where credit is due!!!!! No doubt the fight in Biloxi will be one hell of a show between The Storm and Mongo. But we have as much respect for our guys in Alabama as you guys have for your guys in Mississippi. And you all need to respect that family and friends get on these sites to support their loved ones and you don’t need to be critizing the ones that have the curage to step into that ring and do what they do. To mark and the fatboy. Two judges scored Brian won the fite and the 3rd scored it a draw. So Brain Albin won the fite. Wesley hits very hard. One of the hardest I have been hit by. Thats why I stayed on defense after I took the first couple of shots from him.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to look at the video of the Hooks v. Tidwell fight and know that Hooks got legitimately outperformed, regardless of what kind of garbage people like John come up with because they are poor sports.
If you are a true fan, you know what it is all about and can tell what is going on and are happy to see a good fight like the Hooks v. Tidwell fight.
As for November, I am predicting Tidwell, who is a well rounded fighter and extremely skilled, albeit a little better with boxing than anything, which I attribute to his training partners.
Read up and get educated. Don’t pull for hometown just because you know them. Know the background.
Just to let you know,Babalu’s name is Tony GODBOLD, please correct his name onr the next fight card. I’m sure he will be there. Does any one know know how Jason Grossie is doing?

Trash talk is not what this sport is about and every man or woman that steps into the cage deserves the same respect. As for those trashing me good for you, I sure wasnt pleased with how I fought on the 27th either and Youll never hear me claim to be unbeatable. But i do work hard and put a lot of heart into the sport. As for Mongo I look forward to fighting him I will come in better prepared than I did the other night and may the best man win! Should be a hell of a fight!

Wow – I tell you what – I think we need a forum.
If you have never been IN a cage/ring, let me tell you from experience, it is a whole other world on the INSIDE. Nice to look at videos after the fights and break them down, but hind sight is ALWAYS 20/20.
Also, as Jay stated, one little mistake can change the whole outcome in a split second.
Give the men the respect they deserve for all the time and effort they put in to preparing themselves to walk into that ring/cage for OUR entertainment.
Looking forward to the next fights coming up – Meridian, Byram and the coast.

and for those of you that think Wes picked me … you are wrong. I have been wanting to fight him. I did get called a little late but I wanted the fight. The actual call was “do you have anybody that will fight Wes Shivers?” and I answered “I want to fight him!” … And I want a rematch. I hope we get a chance next year. Wes is a good fighter but I made it to the third round and that is more than anyone else at this point can say.. I hope we both improve and put on a great fight next time. Also for those of you questioning how good Wes is… Just get in the ring with him and you will find out… otherwise we do not need your input. He is 7-0 right now… that is 7 guys that will attest to how good he is…

I think Psychout put on a decent show. I was impressed. They put in a lot of effort and it showed. I can’t speak on the seating arrangement cause I was in the cage.

Much props to my opponent Daniel Watts. He was a game opponent who was tough, strong and had lots of heart. Honestly, I believe that I took him lightly. Maybe in the future we can have a do-over so to speak. Maybe then I can show you the “Hollywood” style that folks have come to see.

well i don’t mean to offend anyone. i apologize if i have. i was under the empression we were all grown. the fight was what it was.. it was good. as good of amature fighting as you will see around jackson. far as who beat who..in this sport the best doesn’t always win. jay is correct. a mistake can be very costly.. i personally thought the babalou guy was a bad arse, i’ve heard people talk bout that boy for a while and they’re right, he’s got skill and a ton of heart, the albin/little fight.. i saw “little” get a good lick in and albin play it smart and win the fight. there were some good licks passed.. that’s what you pay for. then the macguire/leo fight it was very one sided.. who ever set this fight up should be ashamed. it was like a beginner and a pro. leo should have been a little better matched. hooks/mungo..upset.. i was waiting on another beating like the last time i saw him fight that tall white boy from jackson. wasn’t the same fighter too me. then far as the main event.. it was a little bit of a disappointment but it was still iight. now don’t get me wrong from my comments earlier.. the shivers dude is a big ol boy.. i’m just ssaying i’ve seen him fight and it’s not all what he’s cracked to be…. not that he cant get his hands on people and man handle them .. i was just saying that he can’t fight meaning you can tell who has natural skill with hand to hand fighting. example.. babalou. that boy is a natural. not tring to stir up junk. in this sport there are alot of ways to win. that’s why it’s MMA.
